Overview

Background

The company operates five warehouses in different locations, with inventory from four separate sister companies, adding to the complexity. Before 2021, they relied on a desktop system to manage everything, which was difficult to learn and time-consuming to use. Recognizing the need for a more efficient solution, they decided to develop a new warehouse management system.

Problem Statement

Over 80% of warehouse employees were unfamiliar with using mobile applications, and the work processes were complicated, making it challenging to manage tasks efficiently.

Takeaways

Working on this project required a deep understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and organizing the informational hierarchy presented a challenge, especially while following the agile method.

If I had more time, I would focus on improving the ways to communicate and deliver information effectively within such a complex context.
